VENICE DESIGN 2017

VENICE DESIGN 2017 is the largest design exhibition running alongside La Biennale di Venezia. During the Art Biennial, from May 13th to November 26th 2017, VENICE DESIGN intends to show a glimpse of the approaches of today’s international designers and is a testimony as well as an evidence of the current design scene. For its second consecutive year, the exhibition will be hosted by the European Cultural Centre in the historical location of Palazzo Michiel, facing the Grand Canal in the very heart of Venice.

Around 50 creators from 25 different countries and of various cultural backgrounds, ages and points in their career are invited to present their concepts and approaches towards design. Palazzo Michiel has become the place where design perspectives confront themselves and VENICE DESIGN takes the shape of an international platform for design investigations, contemporary mutations and innovative creative attitudes.

Merve Kahraman participated to Venice Design 2017 with items including Malicious Stool, Iris Chair and Hemlock.

At this crucial event's heart, M.int Gallery had exhibited Merve Kahraman's signature products.

Combining designs by young and creative independent design studios, Sight Unseen OFFSITE is a must-see destination for industry professionals and design lovers. This year, Merve Kahraman presented her new "Mirror Series" and "Iris Chair" for the first time to public at Sight Unseen Offsite.

At this year’s DesignPub, Merve Kahraman introduced some of her latest products for the first time in Miami: a sculpted marble egg lamp inspired by dinosaur fossils and a honeycomb shaped hand blown glass floor lamp.

Her acclaimed optical illusion wooden stool “DipStool”, her cork lamp "Lanterna"  and the famous "Min Lilla Viking Lamp" were also featured at the DesignPub Miami.

One of the most visited museums in NYC, Museum of Sex has enlightened, educated and titillated its visitors. Merve Kahraman's iconic antler and bunny chairs, mainly known as Hybrid No.1 and Hybrid No.2, are on the display at front facade of the museum. Be sure to pass by Museum of Sex, located at 233 5th Ave.

MERVE KAHRAMAN WAS AWARDED WITH THE YOUNG DESIGNER OF THE YEAR AWARD TURKEY 2014! 

In The Tenth Annual ELLE DECO International Design Awards (EDIDA), Merve Kahraman was awarded with the Young Designer of The Year Award 2014 Turkey.

Diplopia Coffee Table is a very strong candidate for winning the award of 2014! 

On top of the Furniture Category's Shortlist, Diplopa was described as: "Diplopia by Merve Kahraman Products & Interiors. The judges were intrigued by this ‘unusual’ coffee table with a ‘clever optical illusion’ that gives the appearance of ‘different thicknesses’. Almost ‘ornamental’ but also fully functional, they loved the ‘combination of materials’ and sizes, and also the ‘lovely brass base’."

In all our products we are trying to create pieces of fine craftsmanship by using honest, natural, finest materials combined with artistry and engineering skills. All our manufacturing is made in Turkey by local craftsman, who have been practicing their fields for years.
